Jackson, Tenn. - Rachel
Turner, a native of Southport, N.C., and a senior nursing
major at ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳, was recently awarded a $3,000
Life Care Scholarship by the Tennessee Foundation for
Independent Colleges. "This scholarship is really
competitive," said Claude Pressnell, executive
director of the Tennessee Foundation for Independent
Colleges. "The quality of applicants makes this
competitive because of the integrity of the applicants
and their desire to serve in long-term health care
facilities."
Turner, one of five recipients in the state, received
the award for her commitment to serve in the long-term
health care i ndustry, specifically in the modern nursing
home. In her application, Turner expressed eagerness to
learn issues, challenges and solutions within the health
care industry.
Life Care Centers of America operates 200 nursing
centers in 28 states, including Tennessee.
