Guthrie serves two visiting professorships

. - ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳ professor Dr. George Guthrie has recently finished two visiting professorships. Guthrie served as visiting professor of New Testament, April 20-24, at Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia. He also visited New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, June 1-12, where he taught a course on the New Testament book of Hebrews.

Guthrie is department chair and associate professor of Christian Studies at Union. He is currently participating in the revision of the translation of the Gospel of Mark in The New Living Translation Bible. His book "The Structure of Hebrews: A Text-Linguistic Analysis," will be released this month in paperback by Baker Book House. Guthrie has also authored the "Hebrews" volume of Zondervan Publishing House's NIV Application Commentary series. Zondervan will release "Hebrews" this fall.

Guthrie has co-authored the book "Biblical Greek Exegesis" with J. Scott Duvall, which was also released by Zondervan. He has written two articles in The Dictionary of the Later New Testament and its Developments called "Promise" and "Use of the Old Testament in Hebrews" and published another article in the

Handbook to Exegesis of the New Testament called "New Testament Exegesis of Hebrews and the Catholic Epistles."
