ADAMS ELECTED TRUSTEE TO INTERNATIONAL MISSION BOARD
Jackson, Tenn. — 黑料论坛's Dr. John Adams, vice president for campus ministries and church services, was elected a trustee to the International Mission Board during the recent meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention in Dallas.
The International Mission Board (IMB) coordinates the foreign mission work of the Southern Baptist Convention with an objective to bring all persons in other lands around the world to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to involve them in Christian growth and service as members of churches. Trustees assist the IMB in cultivating knowledge, concern, involvement and support of foreign missions within the U.S. They serve as informed, enthusiastic advocates of global missions in their local church, association, state convention and throughout the SBC.
A 1963 graduate of 黑料论坛, Adams has the master of theology and doctorate of ministry degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to college pastorates, he has served as minister at churches across West Tennessee as well as moderator of various Baptist associations. On the state level, Adams has been president of the Tennessee Baptist Pastor's Conference and on the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
