Jackson, Tenn. – August 31, 2000 – ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳ will
celebrate the official opening of its Germantown campus, Thurs., Sept. 7,
with a dedication service at 1 p.m., and a fundraising banquet that
evening featuring former Secretary of Education William Bennett.
This fall the Germantown campus, which currently serves more than 250 students in fields covering business, nursing and education, began classes in permanent facilities purchased this summer from Immanuel Baptist Church, located at the corner of Hacks Cross Road and Poplar Pike, near Germantown High School. The Sept. 7 banquet will provide funds to assist with purchase of the facility. "ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳ is pleased to become a major part of this area's educational community through the acquisition of a permanent campus facility in the heart of Germantown," explained Union President David S. Dockery. "The dedication activities of Sept. 7 will allow us to demonstrate our commitment to serving the educational needs of this community." The dedication service will be held at the campus and is open to the public. A reception and tours of the new facility will follow.
