Jackson, Tenn. - ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳ President David S. Dockery has been appointed to the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) Baptist Heritage and Identity Commission for 2000-2005, and is "honored to be invited."
The purpose of the commission will be for the exchanging of ideas and to encourage creative new solutions, which will help the church worldwide in its mission and evangelistic responsibilities. Each study commission, stated by the BWA bylaws, "shall consist of persons appointed by the General Secretary, and shall conclude its work at each Baptist World Congress."
The BWA seeks the best Baptist thinkers worldwide who are on "the cutting edge of Baptist life and thought, to challenge our churches and conventions/unions to the enormous new responsibilities and opportunities..."
