Lady Bulldogs advance to quarterfinals; Bulldogs upset

JACKSON, Tenn.March 20, 2009 — Unseeded Columbia College (Mo.) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, upsetting the third-seeded Union Bulldogs 84-64 Friday in the second round of the NAIA men鈥檚 national tournament in Kansas City, Mo.

The Lady Bulldogs, meanwhile, behind 25 points from Kaitlin Dudley, coasted to an 80-59 win over Lindsey Wilson College in second round action of the women鈥檚 national tournament.

The Bulldogs trailed at halftime 38-25, and hot-shooting Columbia maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half. Greg Truvillion scored 27 points to lead Union, which finishes the season with a 29-6 record.

The top-seeded Lady Bulldogs (34-1) advance to their sixth straight national quarterfinals, and will play No. 2-seeded Point Loma Nazarene Saturday at 6 p.m. at Jackson鈥檚 Oman Arena.
