Union to welcome more than 550 for new student registration June 21

JACKSON, Tenn.June 16, 2010 — More than 550 new students – both freshmen and transfers – will be on campus June 21 as part of new student registration.

“We are pleased to welcome this year's class of high quality students,” ̳ President David S. Dockery said. “I am confident that each member of this large entering class will be exceedingly blessed by the privileges that will be theirs to study with Union’s excellent teaching faculty.”

The day will provide the new students with opportunities to meet with their advisers to select their fall courses. They will also see their assigned room in the residence halls and meet their roommates, attend a campuswide picnic where they will dine with faculty and staff and hear from Dockery and attend a student life fair where they will learn about clubs and organizations on campus.

Parents will attend sessions with topics of interest to them.

“New student registration is a highlight for the entire Union community each summer,” said Rich Grimm, Union’s vice president for enrollment services. “We look forward to spending the day with our new students and their families, and count it a privilege to serve them as they take the next step towards enrolling this fall.”
