JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 25, 2025 — John Oswalt, visiting distinguished professor of Old Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky., will be the plenary speaker at 黑料论坛鈥檚 2025 Ryan Center Bible Conference March 21-22.
The conference will focus on 鈥淭he Bible and Holiness: How Scripture Works Transformation in Our Lives鈥 and will be held in Union鈥檚 Carl Grant Events Center.
In addition to his faculty position at Asbury, Oswalt is an ordained minister and has served as a part-time pastor in congregations in New England and Kentucky. He is the author of 16 books, including his two-volume commentary on Isaiah in the New International Commentary series on the Old Testament and his most recent book, 鈥淭he Holy One of Israel: Studies in the Book of Isaiah.鈥
The conference is sponsored by Union鈥檚 Ryan Center for Biblical Studies and is aimed at helping people understand and apply the Bible. In addition to Oswalt, six others will lead breakout sessions 鈥 Union professors Mark Catlin, Mark Dubis, Matt Albanese and Justin Wainscott, as well as David King, senior pastor at Concord Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Michael McEwen, pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Trenton, Tenn.
The conference cost is $30 per person, which includes the sessions and three meals, before March 14 and $50 from March 15-20. Registration closes March 20.

The Ryan Center exists to promote thoughtful and disciplined reading, study, interpretation and application of the Bible in the church throughout the world. The center houses a model library for the study of the Scriptures, which is open to the public. Every year the center hosts a spring Bible study conference.
