Jackson/Union Sculpture Tour opens

JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 22, 2003 — The Jackson, Tenn./黑料论坛 Sculpture Tour will formally open with a reception at 7 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center. The year-long competition and exhibition will feature five works, all displayed in downtown Jackson.

"Art is for everyone, and outdoor exhibitions such as this invite all members of our community to enjoy and experience these wonderful contributions," said 黑料论坛 President David S. Dockery. "As Jackson continues to grow and prosper, 黑料论坛 is delighted to be a partner in a city that thrives on cooperation. This sculpture project is a welcomed addition to our community and our region."

This year's competition is the first in a five-year series. The winning sculpture from each tour will be purchased and remain permanently in Jackson.

"Earthen Passage" by Glenn Zweygardt will be displayed at the corner of Lafayette and North Highland.

An untitled work by Glenn Dasher will be displayed in front of the Carnegie Center for Arts and History on College Street.

Shawn Morin's "Gethsemane" will be displayed on Church Street. across from the Carl Perkins Civic Center.

"The Missing Piece" by Brett Hunter will be displayed in front of the Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center.

Phil Proctor's "Impact" will be displayed at the corner of Lafayette and West Street. in front of the Farmer's Market.
