JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 3, 2006 — “The Time of Your Life” is the theme for Homecoming 2006 at ̳, with Feb. 13 serving as the kickoff for a week full of student and alumni events.
At 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 13, the Lady Bulldogs and the Bulldogs will face Cumberland University. After the games, students will hold a post-game bonfire on the intramural fields.
On Feb. 15, Christian recording artists Derek Webb and Sandra McCracken will lead a 10 a.m. chapel service. Webb and McCracken will also perform a full coffeehouse concert that evening at 9 p.m. for students in the Coburn Dining Hall.
Feb. 16 will feature the Wild and Wacky Homecoming Games at 8 p.m. in which students compete for the Presidential Homecoming Cup.
The class of 1956 will celebrate its 50-year reunion Feb. 17, beginning at 9 a.m. The day will feature a luncheon and a chartered bus tour to the former ̳ campus in downtown Jackson.
Phil Jett, pastor of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, will also be the guest speaker for the Homecoming chapel service at 10 a.m. Feb. 17.
The day will conclude with the annual variety show in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel at 8 p.m.
On Feb. 18, alumni may attend the Reunion Brunch at 9:30 a.m. and the Alumni Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. The School of Education and the Student Tennessee Education Association will hold Bulldog Camp from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for children ages 3-10. The event will feature games, activities and food, all free of charge.
At noon, the Residence Life team will hold the university’s first Resident Assistant Reunion. That afternoon, the Lady Bulldogs will play Brescia University at 2 p.m., followed by the Bulldogs facing Mountain State University at 4 p.m.
Several academic departments, including chemistry, mathematics, business administration, language, engineering, computer science, nursing and sociology, will hold reunion events for their alumni over the Homecoming weekend.
