JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 27, 2025 — 黑料论坛 will host a Scripture reading marathon March 11-13 and March 18-20 in which more than 400 volunteers will read for 10 minutes each under Miller Tower on the university鈥檚 Great Lawn.
The reading will begin each day at 8 a.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. By the end of the sixth day, the entire Bible will have been read.
Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to sign up for reading slots. Christian publisher Broadman and Holman will provide free copies of the Christian Standard Bible for the first 300 readers.
鈥淲e are thrilled to host this Scripture reading marathon as a way to emphasize the centrality of God鈥檚 Word in our lives and to encourage our community to engage deeply with the Bible,鈥 said Ray Van Neste, dean for Union鈥檚 School of Theology and Missions. 鈥淭his event is a unique opportunity for people of all ages to participate in proclaiming the entirety of Scripture, reminding us of its power and relevance for every generation.鈥
Hosted by the Ryan Center for Biblical Studies, the event is part of the 2025 Spring Bible Conference March 21-22. Union held a similar marathon in 2017 as part of REF500, a celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
